How to take the step forward

For when you're feeling like you don't know where to start

Hello dear friends! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a blog, life has been very busy for me! This summer I got married and bought a house! Super relaxing summer - not. Although it hasn’t been relaxing, it has been full of excitement and adventure and emotions! If there’s one thing I know how to do - it’s take the next step! I am not saying this to brag, but to share how much I’ve grown over the last 15-20 years and how I can listen to my intuition and move forward in life with confidence, determination, and a dash of valid stress.

When most of my clients first come to me, they share that the first step can be the most overwhelming part of the process. Which is why coaching is so valuable! That first step can sometimes feel so overwhelming that you don’t take any steps at all! Analysis paralysis. Sometimes there are so many options that you feel you don’t know which one to take!

Personally, I feel like listening to your intuition is one of the most valuable skills you can utilize when taking that first step. However, for some of us - it might have been awhile since you’ve fully listened and tapped in to your intuition. This is something that I work with all of my clients on - reconnecting with your inner voice.

So, today I wanted to share one practice you can utilize to tap in and connect with yourself once again. At times, your intuition can feel like someone across the street whispering to you - you can barely hear it. Other times, it can feel like someone coming and knocking down your door to yell your message at you. If you are unsure or can’t remember what your intuition feels like, then this is for you.

One of the most important steps in connecting with your intuition again - is to get very quiet. Find a quiet, peaceful space - whether that’s a dedicated meditation room, a closet, or sitting in your car in the garage. Once you get to the quiet space, take a few deep breaths. You know the deal - in through the nose, out through the mouth. Once you’ve relaxed your nervous system, ask for guidance. For me, this means connecting with my higher self or my guides. You could ask your ancestors - whatever your practice looks like to you. I will actually speak or think “my higher self, what message do you have for me about this (insert situation you are contemplating)?” Then, I just listen - and she always comes through. There is a voice inside us all that will have the answers for you, if you can just get quiet enough to hear it.

For me, the message flows freely and clearly. Actually, I will do a live practice of this right now. I just asked my higher self how to end this blog post. Here is what I heard:

In order to guide yourself and others, the answer is within - we are always here for you. It is also important to remember that every step is momentum. No matter what step you pick, just know that it is always for your highest good. When the step feels like soft waves pouring over your body - this is a good sign. Sometimes, you can even feel the current of excitement buzzing on your skin. You will always know - deep down if you connect - you will always know.

So, there you have it. Get quiet, connect with your source, and simply listen. Feel it in your body and know that no matter what - the next step you take will get you where you’re going.
